Rinaldi Family History
1st Generation (The beginning)

Rinaldi’s Restaurant was founded and built by Frank Rinaldi (Ed Rinaldi’s father) in 1959. The success and heritage of the landmark restaurant are traced back to his mother and father’s roots in Pontelandolfo, Italy.

Victoria “Nonnie” Rubbo and Guytano Rinaldi migrated from Italy to America in 1917. Nonnie’s love of cooking, recipes and hard work ethic is at the foundation for all of our successful restaurants.

2nd Generation

Ed and Angela Santulli Rinaldi founded Angela’s Pasta Plus in August 1978 in Connecticut. Our goal was to continue with the successful operation by never compromising our standards or our recipes. Angela’s Pasta Plus had three locations and 3 food trucks in Waterbury, Connecticut from 1978 to 2008.

3rd Generation

In 2009 the Rinaldi Family, Ed, Angela, Rachel, and Frank moved to Johns Island, SC to open La Tela Pizzeria. La Tela was a vision the entire family shared, made from scratch Italian cuisine, an open kitchen with a glowing woodfired pizza oven, and a fun, casual atmosphere. La Tela instantly became a local favorite. In 2014 with over 36 years of owning and operating successful Italian restaurants the Rinaldis decided to create Provata Woodfired Pizza and Fresh Pasta Franchise to share their knowledge, experience, and expertise with motivated and dedicated entrepreneurs.
